Subject: What plus lens prescription to use?
Hi,
I read your website with great interest and would
like to congratulate you on going against conventional wisdom. Thank you for
your fine work. I have a 7-year old son who has just recently been told to get
a -1.0 lens for the right eye and -0.5 lens for the left eye. I hesitate to
buy the prescribed -ve lens as I know his myopia will progress in time as with
mine in my childhood days. I have decided to try the +ve lens method. The
trouble is, I don't know what to fit him with.. +1.0 for both eyes? or +1.5
for the right and +1.0 for the left. I understand that the way to use the +ve
lens is to put them on only for near sight situations such as reading and
school home work.. and take them off for longer distance activities such as
TV watching, sports etc. please correct me if I am wrong... really appreciate
your help..

Thank you for the inquiry, we are delighted to receive the message from Singapore. Because the distance between you and us. I hope you could find an optometrist willing to assist you with plus lens. Perhaps, you could discuss with him/her facing your problem with his/her own kid. What would he/she do? Prescribe minus lens at once or a chance of PREVENTION ?
Please go through the site's content especially the
part International Exchange of PLus, the correspondance with Israr Hussain,
Texas.
