Hi,
my child is only 6-years-old. I just took him to get vision test,  then the doctor said he got one eye in 150 degree and the other one is ok. He suggested us to have the glasses or doing the "crt","ortho-k" for my kid. I was so lucky because I have a friend who is coming from h.k, and he passed  your web-information to me, so I did not make decision for my kid. I already ask my friend to order your book for me, then I can fully understand what is your way to solve the problem.

I am so worry about my kid right now, that is why I am writing the msg to you for asking the help. my child his reading or writing is fine as well as in the school now,  so , do I have to buy the plus-lens for him right away? how can I protect him to avoid getting worse in the vision ?
we are living in the L.A , can you recommend where we can go to get the help.

thanks

Joyce

I hope you have the deep insight of plus and minus lens application as well as the development of acquired myopia. Try your best to stay away the first pair of minus lens.

Myopia develops commonly in highly literate society. I guessed your child starts to read and write at early age of 3 to 4, so common among the Chinese. You must stop him from doing near-work at a distance shorter than 10 inches at the first place. The closer range of near-work, the stronger nearsightedness developed. What is his habitual reading distance and how long he spends in near-work?

Please note myopia could hardly be reversed once it developed at such small age, you must understand the underlie principle of fogging with plus lens. The major goal of plus lens is PREVENTION.

All my wishes is preventing from getting worse.

I have no connection with any OD in L.A. who has the interest in prevention. Perhaps, you could look around and ask any doctor who is willing to assist you with PLUS lens. The best thing is asking him what will he do on his own kid facing your same problem.

Best wishes
