Steve is an independent optometrist who is a graduate of
Hong Kong
PolyU (formerly HK Polytechnics).
With more than 16 years as a practicing optometrist, Steve H.
Leung has seen the problem of myopia getting more serious --especially in the case of young children.
He never doubted nor questioned the theories he was taught
during his years studying and doing course work in optometry. As
a result of his desire to learn more he began exploring alternative methods, and evaluated the work of several enthusiastic scientists who advocate myopia prevention. He has
been encouraged and refreshed by them about the meaning of
optometry (vision-care). He became completely aware as to the
possibility of the management of children's acquired myopia with
major emphasis on prevention.
Today, he is concerned with, and cares about the vision of
children and young people. This includes helping you understand
his emphasis on prevention.
HAN Bossino ( HON Hou Ian, Alfred ) (Right)
HAN is the Webmaster and founder of Chinamyopia.org. He is a Hong Kong journalist who is a graduate of
National Taiwan University.
HAN is a victim of the minus lens method from his early childhood. He became a myopia prevention activist after meeting with
Steve H. Leung who explained to him the long-term bad effect of
the minus lens.
Although he has high myopia, he understands, and does not
want our young children to follow in his foot steps in the process
of becoming nearsighted, an ultimately a high myope.
He is willing to make this personal commitment, to
share his experience and appreciation about the use of plus lens. He judges
that his life is more meaningful after his decision --advocating myopia
prevention be offered to all young children.
